Bengaluru Traffic Police has announced that from February 2, 2025, vehicle movement will be completely stopped along Cubbon Road, specifically from Main Guard Cross Road to Dispensary Road. This closure will last for 30 days to allow the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to carry out white topping work. The aim of this project is to improve the road surface and ensure smoother traffic flow in the area.
According to a press release, all types of vehicles will be prohibited on this stretch to facilitate the construction work. The traffic police have also outlined specific routes that will be restricted during this period:
1.Vehicles traveling from Safina Plaza Junction to Commercial Street via Infantry Road are not allowed.
2. Similarly, vehicles from Safina Plaza Junction to Commercial Street via Cubbon Road and Main Guard Cross Road are also restricted.
To help drivers navigate around these restrictions, the police have provided alternative routes. For instance, vehicles heading to Commercial Street from Infantry Road or Safina Plaza can take a right turn at Infantry Road and Lady Curzon Junction, then turn left onto Lady Curzon Road. From there, they should take another left onto Cubbon Road, continue to the junction of KR Road and Cubbon Road, and finally turn left onto Kamaraja Road to reach Commercial Street.
These measures are being implemented to ensure that traffic remains smooth despite the ongoing construction work in the area. Drivers are encouraged to follow these new routes and be mindful of the traffic restrictions in place during this month-long closure.
