In a tragic incident, a five-year-old died after falling into a pit opened for installation in a lift of an under-construction building in Bengaluru. The police informed that the incident took place in Kadugodi. A case has been registered against owner and caretaker of the building, Sunil based on complaint of child’s mother.
The deceased has been identified as Suhas Gowda, who fell into a pit around 9 am on Wednesday. The child was playing with his friends in front of the house near construction site. The pit was filled with rain water and as per reports, no precautionary measures were taken to prevent the accidents at that site. Reportedly, Suhas lost his balance and fell into the pit which wasn’t covered.
After the tragic incident, residents held protest over Suhas’ death and demanded immediate action.
Bengaluru Police Takes Action
Bengaluru Police said, “A five-year-old boy died after falling into a pit (shaft) opened for installation in a lift of an under-construction building. The incident took place under Kadugodi police station limits. Based on the complaint filed by the child’s mother, the police registered an FIR against Sunil, who was the owner and caretaker of the building.”

According to ETV Bharat reports, mother of the boy accused building’s owner for his negligence that led to unfortunate death of her son. She told that construction work for a milk dairy was in progress near her home and 5-feett-deep was dug up for installation of lift.
