Bengaluru: Popular TV Actress Manjula Stabbed Multiple Times By Husband Over Marital Discord; Sustains Injuries On Chest And Thighs

The two have been married for 20 years, but for the past 15 years, their relationship has been plagued by frequent tensions, domestic quarrels, and incidents of assault.

Television actress Manjula, 31, also known as ‘Shruthi’, was attacked multiple times by her husband with a knife at their residence in Hanumanthnagar. The incident took place between 11:30 am and 12 noon on July 4. Manjula suffered serious injuries on her chest, thigh, and neck and was treated at Victoria Hospital. She has now been discharged from the hospital. The accused, Amresh HS, 49, has been arrested on charges of attempted murder.

In April, Manjula filed a complaint against Amresh and moved to her brother’s house. According to Manjula, Amresh had recently reconciled with her, apologising and claiming to have changed.

On the day of the incident, when their daughters had gone to college, Amresh first sprayed pepper spray on Manjula and then attacked her with a knife. Hearing Manjula’s screams, the neighbours immediately rushed there and caught hold of Amresh.
