A Bengaluru man was sacked from his job after a complaint was filed against him for allegedly threatening to throw acid on a woman over her choice of clothes. The woman’s husband complained that his wife was given a warning by the accused Nikith Shetty.
Husband Shahbaz Ansar took to X to call out the man threatening his wife. He wrote, “This person is threatening to throw acid on my wife’s face for her choice of clothes. Please take immediate action against this person to prevent any incident from happening.” He tagged Bengaluru police, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and Deputy CM DK Shivakumar seeking speedy action in his post.

Immediate action was taken by the company where the accused worked earlier after Ansar’s post surfaced on social media.

Company Responds
In a significant move, Etios Services condemned the incident, saying “We are deeply saddened to address a serious incident involving one of our employees, Nikith Shetty, who made a threatening statement regarding another individual’s choice of clothing. This behaviour is absolutely unacceptable and goes against the core values we uphold at Etios Services,” in an Instagram post. The company further confirmed that Nikith’s employment had been terminated for five years, and a case was filed against him to ensure accountability for his actions.
Netizens lauded the company for the prompt action. “The man who threatened my wife lost his job. The company took swift action and fired him. Thank you all for making this happen,” Ansar said.
