Bengaluru: A shocking incident unfolded on Sunday after a 20-year-old student reportedly died by Suicide in Bengaluru. The police said that the girl jumped off the fourth floor of her house, located at the Victory Harmony apartment in the city’s Hebbal area. She took her life allegedly due to the stress of examinations around 12.45 pm on April 13.
Girl Was Struggling With Mental Pressure
The girl, identified as Soumya, a dental student, was in her second year at KLE Dental College. According to reports, she has been struggling with depression due to exams. A case has been registered, and police are currently investigating the incident. Meanwhile, this is not the first instance where a student has attempted suicide due to studies.
At Least Five Died By Suicide In Karnataka
Reports revealed that at least five students recently died by suicide in Karnataka because they were upset over their Class 12 results. The incidents separately took place in Mysuru, Ballari, Davanagere, Haveri district, and Bengaluru. Meanwhile, Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah appealed to the students who did not pass the examinations to “not give into disappointment.
MSU Student Dies By Suicide In Gujarat
In yet another incident that occurred in Gujarat on Sunday, a 19-year-old engineering student reportedly died by suicide in his hostel at MS University in Vadodara. Following the incident, the police have registered a case of accidental death at Fatehganj police station. The deceased, Abhishek Sharma, who was a second-year engineering student, was originally from Jammu-Kashmir’s Udhampur district.
