The girl had a bad test score recently, reported police sources cited by NDTV. Her mother saw her spending more time on her mobile than studying as her final exams began on February 15. After the mother scolded her to get back to her studies, the girl apparently retaliated by committing suicide.

The police believe that she jumped right after her parents had yelled at her. They have registered a case of unnatural death and are making further inquiries. The family’s official statement is yet to be recorded.

This follows yet another suicide case reported earlier on February 4, when a 24-year-old postgraduate student from Bengaluru University was found dead in her hostel room at Jnana Bharathi campus. She pursued an MA in Kannada and came from a village near HD Kote town.
