Bengaluru: In a shocking incident that took place on Wednesday in Ramanagara district, a girl was reportedly found dead at her home. Police suspect that she was raped and then killed by unknown miscreants. The 14-year-old victim was a Class 6 dropout, a resident of Koppal. She lived with her parents and two brothers.
The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, when the girl was alone at her house. Reports added that the accused sexually assaulted and later attacked her on the head after barging into her house. He fled the scene after committing the crime. When her younger brother returned home, he found blood oozing from her head. Her parents and police reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem examination.
Ramanagara SP R. Srinivas Gowda told TNIE that the deceased’s parents have filed a police complaint alleging rape and murder. “We are currently treating the crime as a murder case. The postmortem report will confirm whether she was raped before being murdered,” he said. The police are reviewing the CCTV footage to track down the suspect. Meanwhile, a case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
In yet another deeply disturbing incident that took place in Bengaluru on Monday night, a woman was gangraped by four individuals in her friend’s house. The accused also carried out a robbery in the house, taking away a refrigerator, an LED TV, and a washing machine. Moreover, they allegedly transferred ₹13,000 to their bank account from the victim’s phone after committing the crime. Based on the 35-year-old survivor’s complaint, the police booked all four accused, identified as Shashi Kumar, Krnche Gowda, Raghu, and Madesh.
