Bengaluru: A 20-year-old engineering college student from Bengaluru stabbed another student during the college fest on April 28. The police arrested the accused.

The accused was identified as Bharatesh N A, a resident of Bengaluru and the victim Bhaskar Jetty H, a fourth-year mechanical engineering student from Gujarat, was stabbed to death during the Reva University college festival.

According to a police officer, Bharatesh is a Reva University second-year civil engineering student. Reva University hosts an annual celebration called ‘Revotsava’ on its grounds. The police claimed they have yet to determine the cause of the incident.

ML Kalicharan, a member of the university’s law department, filed a complaint after witnessing a student (Jetty) bleeding heavily and another student leave the scene with a knife tucked behind him. The police initiated a manhunt to apprehend the suspect when another student, Sharath Kumar, was injured.
