Bengaluru: After Metro’s Purple Line, 35 BMTC Feeder Buses Inaugurated; Check Routes Here

The city on Wednesday got a total of 35 Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) Metro feeder service buses to facilitate locals.

Bengaluru: The city on Wednesday got a total of 35 Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) Metro feeder service buses to facilitate locals. This comes following the inauguration of purple line of Bengaluru Metro became operational.

Karnataka Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy dedicated the feeder buses that will be operating on two routes in the Bengaluru. Speaking on the bus feeder services, the state minister emphasized on the significant development to be made for better transportation.

He said the ministry has already mulled over and decided to roll out a few changes in BMTC in next six months. For instance, the government has planned to purchase more 2,000 buses.

While travelling in one of the newly-inaugurated feeder buses, Reddy stated “More people should travel in the Metro. That’s why we are providing connectivity. To provide last-mile connectivity, we have to give more buses.”

“We are planning to purchase 2,000 more buses this year. There will be a lot of changes in the next six months for BMTC,” added the state minister.

On the day of inauguration, CEOs, IAS officers, and IPS officers also boarded BMTC bus from KR Puram Metro to Intel Ecospace.

Bengaluru passengers must know that the feeder will run on two routes only. They are: 

– KR Pura Metro to Silk Board via Marathahalli-Kadubisanahalli-Ibluru
– KR Pura Metro and back via Marathahalli-Kundalahalli-Graphite India

The Bengaluru Metro’s Purple Line, which is also known as the Whitefield-Challaghatta Metro corridor was dedicated to locals on October 9. It should be know that the expansion included 2.1-km Baiyappanahalli-KR Pura and 2.05-km Kengeri-Challaghatta sections.

These sections are are part of the 42.85 km Purple Line, stretching from Whitefield to Challaghatta in the east and west.
