A large number of people had reached to take blankets.
West Bengal Minister Chandranath Sinha said that no permission was taken for the program.
“For a meeting to be held, it has to be seen how many people can be accommodated at the venue. They’re trying to do these things to uplift their image due to which people in Bengal are getting affected,” he added.
The incident took place minutes after Suvendu Adhikari left the venue after his speech. The event was organised by former Asansol mayor and BJP leader Jitendra Tewari. Adhikari was the chief guest at the event.
The injured were rushed to Asansol district hospital.
