New Delhi: As Delhi gears up to fight against pollution this year, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced a 15 point Winter Action Plan. The Winter Action Plan will be the government’s blueprint in this fight.

Announcing the Winter Action Plan, CM Arvind Kejriwal stated, “Delhi Government will spray bio decomposer for free to tackle stubble; coverage area will be increased from 4,000 acres to 5,000 acres this year.”

“Delhi Government will deploy 80 road sweeping and 521 water sprinkling machines to curb pollution emerging from roads; 150 mobile anti-smog guns to go around the city. Delhi has 203 busy roads with heavy traffic; we have prepared alternative routes to divert traffic from such roads; 611 teams formed to penalise open-burning of garbage,” he added.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, “Thirteen, we have marked 13 hotspots across Delhi which are under a strict surveillance and we will implement various solutions to control pollution in those hotspots. Fourteenth, we will implement a modified GRAP which will give a forecast three days prior to deterioration of air quality and we will run the GRAP in a similar manner as we did last year. We all know that air is uniformly spread across the atmosphere and it can move from one place to another.”

Urging for a coordinated effort between states, CM Arvind Kejriwal concluded, “ We will work along with the Central Government, CAQM and other states to tighten a noose on pollution. I request all the neighbouring states to ensure that all those vehicles which enter Delhi are either CNG or electric vehicles. They can also stop the industrial units from using fuel, which causes pollution, and direct them to use PNG.”

“I am completely optimistic that we will curb air pollution in winters with the cooperation of people of Delhi,” said the Chief Minister.
