Chandigarh: The Border Security Force reportedly seized 200 rounds of ammunition, three handguns, and six AK-47 weapons along the India-Pakistan border in Punjab.

The item was found in a backpack during a search Thursday night in the Ferozepur sector, not far from the zero line. The bag contained 200 rounds of ammunition as well as three AK-47 rifles, six empty magazines, three mini-AK-47 rifles, five magazines, and three pistols.

The BSF recovered 3 AK-47 rifles with 6 empty magazines, 3 mini AK-47 rifles with 5 empty magazines, 3 pistols with 6 empty magazines, and 200 rounds of ammunition.

The BSF has informed Punjab Police for investigation.

Earlier today, one labourer died as Border Security Force troops rescued four General Reserve Engineer Force labourers who were trapped under debris, said officials.
“One labourer was dead and the remaining four were admitted to Dhawan Nursing Home,” said BSF Punjab Frontier officials.
