New Delhi: A shocking case has emerged from the national capital New Delhi. Here a man has allegedly strangled his live-in partner to death. He then chopped her body into 35 pieces and dumped them into the forests of Mehrauli over a period of 18 days. Allegedly the guy used to step out at around 2 am everyday to dump the body parts.
The accused has been identified as Aftab Ameen Poonawalla who was living with her live-in partner. He strangled her to death on May 18 after they had a fight. He then chopped her over the period of next 18 days. He used to dispose off the body parts in different areas of the Mehrauli forest.

Chairperson of the Delhi’s Commission of Women, Swati Maliwal has posted on twitter in this regard. She wrote, “In a heart-wrenching case, a girl was killed by her boyfriend in Delhi and kept in the fridge in 35 pieces! The pieces of his dead body were thrown in different areas of the city. How are the poor living in the society? Police has arrested the accused, the rapist should be punished severely.”

Deceased met Aftab in a call center
The 26-year-old was working in a call center where she met Aftab. They started dating and gradually moved in together. However, her family did not approved of her relationship and hence, the couple eloped and moved to Delhi. Here, they started living in a flat in Mehrauli.
She stopped responding to family’s call
She stopped responding to her family’s call. Her father Vikas Madaan came to Delhi on November 8 to check on her. On reaching the flat he found that it was locked. Following this he approached the Mehrauli police station to formally register a complain in this regard alleging kidnap of her daughter.
Based on the complain, police arrested Aftab on Saturday. During investigation, he revealed that the two fought frequently as the victim wanted to marry him said sources in the police. The search for the deceased’s body parts is still on.
