Palghar (Maharashtra): The Police have arrested 8 accused allegedly for raping a 16-year-old girl in a village of Palghar district in Maharashtra, informed the officials on Sunday.
On the intervening night of Friday and Saturday, the accused rape the teenager in an abandoned bunglow in theri beach village after which they took her to the seashore in the bushes where they again assaulted the girl sexually, reported the news agency PTI.
A spokesperson of the Palghar district rural police informed that a case of gang-rape has been filed at Satpati police station.
Arresting the accused in the early hours of Sunday, the police has also registered a case
against them under various Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections, including 376 (D) (gang-rape), 366 (A) (procuration of minor girl), 341 (wrongful restraint), 342 (wrongful
confinement) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), and sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, he said.
An investigation has been launched in the matter for further proceedings.
