Firozabad: Six people died while 21 others injured after a private bus carrying over 40 passengers collided with a truck in Uttar Pradesh’s Firozabad on Wednesday.

The incident took place on Agra-Lucknow Expressway when the bus coming from Ludhiana and going towards Rae Bareli overturned in the moat after colliding with the truck, news agency UNI reported citing police sources.

“After getting the information Superintendent of Police (SP) Ran Vijay Singh along with police and UPIDA team reached the spot and launched a rescue operation during which the injured were taken to the hospital.” they said.

As many as 45 passengers were travelling in the Rae Bareli bound bus.

“Six persons died on the spot and their bodies have been sent for post mortem examination. Initially three victims have been identified as Reena (22), a resident of Fatehpur, her 15-months son Sunil and Sant Lala (62),” SP said, as reported by UNI.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
