Lucknow: Two people died and three were injured in a head-on collision between two motorcycles in Uttar Pradesh’s Maharajganj, police said on Sunday.

The accident occurred in the Kolhui police station area on Saturday night, they said.
The deceased have been identified as Ramjee Giri (30) and Santosh (28), Kolhui Station House Officer Mahendra Yadav said, as reported by news agency PTI.

The condition of the three injured, who were traveling on another bike, is stable, he said, adding that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.

3 died in another accident

Three youths were killed when a motorcycle was hit by an unidentified person in Pihani area of Hardoi district in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday.

“On Sunday morning while the trio was returning from Jahani Khera after completing some construction work their motorcycle was hit by an unidentified vehicle near Pandarva village,” police officials said, as reported by news agency UNI.

The three were identified as Raj Kumar Kushwaha, Sanjay and Babloo Kushwaha.

“Their bodies have been sent for post mortem examination and efforts are being made to trace the vehicle involved in the accident,” police said.
