Bijapur (Chhattisgarh): Naxalities in Bijapur’s village kidnapped and assaulted Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Yuva Morcha worker Mahesh Gota and threw him alongside road in a critical condition on Monday evening.
As soon as the information was received by the lcoals of Mahesh Gota being seriously injured and lying on the road, they immediately gathered and rushed the victim to a hospital.
Mahesh Gota is also a former Sarpanch of Kutru village who was abducted on Sunday from Farsegarh while he was returning from worshipping of Chikatraj Dev on Sunday. The accused attacked former Sarpanch with sharp weapons and thrown him near Somanpally area considering that he was dead.
As per the information, the accused kidnapped 50 villagers and released 40 of them after that. Along with Mahesh Gota, they held hostage of 9 other people.
When was the hostage taken?
The tribals of Kutru village go to the Chikat Raj mountain every year in Monsson to worship. This year too, more than 50 tribals reached for worship on Sunday, but during their return they encountered Naxalites.
After taking 10 people hostage, the Naxalites released 40 people. Later, they released others except Mahesh Gota after the respective families pleaded. However, they did not let former sarpanch Mahesh Gota go and kept him as hostage.
The daughter had made a poignant appeal to the Naxalites:
After Mahesh Gota was taken hostage, his daughter Rajkumari made a poignant appeal to the Naxalites to release her father but it did not make any difference to the them and the Naxalites left the former sarpanch seriously injured.
Naxalites have kidnapped Mahesh Gota in the past too:
As per the information, Mahesh Gota has been abducted by the Naxalites in the past as well. Earlier in 2012, Naxalites had kidnapped Mahesh Gota. During that time he was released after being held hostage for 7 days.
