New Delhi: Four people, including two children, died and 16 others injured on Saturday after a series of gas cylinder blasts in Jodhpur’s Kirti Nagar area.
The blast took place in a residential colony of Magra Punjla area in Jodhpur on Saturday afternoon.
16 injured were taken to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in Jodhpur for treatment, while the condition of 6 remained critical.

District Collector Himanshu Gupta said that 4 people were burnt alive in the accident, while 16 people got burnt. The bodies of the dead were retrieved by the fire brigade personnel. Following the blast, 16 injured were brought to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital. The condition of 6 injured remains critical.
As per initial reports, six cylinders exploded simultaneously.
Expressing grief over the incident, Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot said: It is very sad to know that 4 people died and many people got injured due to gas cylinder explosion in Kirti Nagar of Magra Punjla area in Jodhpur. The local administration has taken information about the entire incident and has given instructions for proper treatment of the injured.
My deepest sympathies are with the bereaved family in this difficult time, may God give them strength to bear this loss and may the departed soul rest in peace, Gehlot added.
