Noida: Uttar Pradesh is renowned for its extensive network of expressways and highways. The state has been actively constructing numerous highways and expressways, making it a city of fast-paced connectivity. Alongside the proposed Ganga Expressway and Gorakhpur-Shamli Expressway, there is now a plan for the Noida-Kanpur Expressway.
The upcoming Noida-Kanpur Expressway aims to connect Noida, adjacent to Delhi, with the industrial city of Kanpur. Initially, there was a plan to build the expressway between Kanpur and Hapur, but it has been revised. To link the Noida-Kanpur Expressway with Hapur, a 60 km-long connector road will be constructed. This expressway will span 380 km, connecting Noida Airport to Kanpur Airport and passing through six districts of Uttar Pradesh: Noida, Bulandshahr, Kasganj, Etah, Mainpuri, and Kannauj.
The change in the expressway plan is said to be influenced by the Jewar International Airport, and after approval, work is expected to commence. The route map details have been prepared as part of the DPR (Detailed Project Report) for the Noida-Kanpur Expressway, and finalization is subject to ministry approval.
The development of this expressway is anticipated to boost industrial growth and overall development in the surrounding areas. The project is tentatively scheduled for completion by March 2026, enhancing transportation and connectivity in the region.
