New Delhi: As many as three people have thrashed a stray dog to death in the Sushilpura area of Sodala in Rajasthan’s Jaipur. The video of the incident went viral on the social media, triggering disgust and anger among people.

A woman who is a resident of the colony where the inhumane incident took place, has registered a case against the three men at the Sodala Police Station.

As per the local media, the dog who was assaulted had been making attacks on people and biting them around the locality.

SHO of Sodhala police station, Satpal Singh, said a case was registered under Section 429 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

“A resident of Sushil Pura filed a complaint that some unidentified youths beat a street dog to death. Although locals said the dog had turned rabid, the post-mortem report will help us ascertain if it, indeed, had,” the SHO added.

The police have initiated the probe to find the accused.

Kerala Dog Bites Incident

It is worth noting that a while ago in Kerala, there were mass killing of the canines owing to the increasing dog bites. People who were afraid of stray dogs were even feeding poison to street dogs to stop attacks.

That raised a grave concern among animal activists who came on the roads to protest against the incompassionate behaviour.
