New Delhi: Three members of a family were killed in a dispute in Jhanji Tola village of Jharkhand's Ranchi. After which, the police has arrested four men in connection with the murder.
The incident took place on Thursday that had sent shockwaves in the area owing to the fact that the two among the killed ones were women. As per the information, a brawl broke out two families. It was told that the two families already had a rivalry for years that also became factor behind the murder.
A police official informed that the incident, which took place in the Jhanji Tola village was followed by a heated argument over some pigs eating out crops of relatives of another family. That sparked the fight between the two families who were already in dispute with each other.
While elaborting the case to media people, a police official said the reason behind the big incident was minor.
In the preliminary investigation, the official added, it was found out that pigs belonging to one family destroyed crops in their relative’s farm after which, the bond between the families was disturbed.
Following that, at least 10 to 12 people armed with sticks and agricultural tools launched an attack at the family members who owned the pigs. The violent confrontation between the two families led to the death of three people of a same family, while two among them were women.
Bodies sent for post-mortem
As per media reports, the victims had been identified as Sarita Devi (39), Janeswar Bedia (42) and Sanju Devi (25). Meanwhile, the police had taken the bodies into custody and sent those to the hospital for post-mortem.
Police said the family and eyewitness of the incident have identified the accused and teams have been formed to nab the culprits. However, there are three women and one man among those who have been arrested so far.
