IIT Madras:  A 20-year-old BTech student allegedly committed suicide on IIT Madras premises. This is the fourth such case in the last four months. The student identified as Kedar Suresh hung himself from the ceiling fan. Kottupuram Police have registered the case, and an investigation is underway.

The student was from Madhya Pradesh and was staying in the Cauvery hostel at IIT Madras. His body was discovered hanging from a ceiling fan, according to reports. His room was locked from the inside, and the students informed the hostel warden, who contacted the police and the body was sent for a post-mortem.

The suicide of an IIT Madras PhD researcher is already being investigated, and students are demanding justice for the student. A 32-year-old PhD student is said to have committed suicide. According to the police, the IIT Madras student was discovered dead at his leased Velachery residence.
