Zomato, the online food delivery giant, will join the prestigious BSE Sensex index on December 23, replacing JSW Steel. The latest development was announced by Asia Index Private Ltd, a BSE subsidiary. The Asia Index said on Friday that the changes will be enforced on December 23, 2024. Zomato’s entry into the prestigious 30-stock index is a notable achievement, capping off an exceptional year of growth and performance for the company.

The reconstitution has a broader scope, affecting not only the Sensex but also other key indices, including the BSE 100, BSE Sensex 50, and BSE Sensex Next 50. Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex 50 index is experiencing a significant reshuffle, with notable inclusions being Zomato, Jio Financial Services, and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. Conversely, HDFC Life Insurance Company, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd, and LTI Mindtree will be removed from the index as part of the reshuffle.

- Zomato was listed on the Indian Bourses on July 23, 2021.
- The company’s share closed with a decline of 0.97% at Rs 264.15 apiece on BSE on Friday.
- Zomato’s share opened at Rs 267.40 apiece on Friday. Meanwhile, shares hit an intraday high at Rs 268.95 and intraday low at Rs 262.60 apiece.
- 52-week high for the company’s share is Rs 298.20 apiece, hit on September 24, 2024.
- 52-Week low for the Zomato’s share is Rs 112.50 apiece, hit on November 23, 2023.
