The popular food delivery service Zomato has introduced a new feature ‘healthy mode’, so that customers will now be able to order nutritious food through the app. This facility has just been launched in Gurugram and the company is planning to bring it to other cities soon.
Eternal founder Deepinder Goyal shared information about this feature on X (East Twitter) and wrote:
“Healthy mode is now live in Gurugram and we will apply it to more places soon. Try it, identify its flaws and tell us where it needs improvement. Because it is just a beginning – and for the first time I feel that we are taking a really meaningful step towards our mission ‘Better food for more people’.”
How is this feature different from other options?
Till now, customers could only ask for limited ‘healthy’ options such as smoothies or salads from some selected restaurants, but they were really nutritious – there was no concrete information. This new update of Zomato has now added a ‘healthy score’ with every dish, so that customers can examine whether the food is really healthy. Although it has not been clear whether it will meet data from restaurants or from an independent source, the company has stated that AI (artificial intelligence) will be used to prepare this score, so that the figures remain fair and uniform.
“Under this feature every dish has been given a healthy score – which can be from ‘Lo’ to ‘Super’. This score will not be on calories, but will be based on elements that are really necessary for your health: such as protein, complex carbohydrates, fiber and micro -nutritious. The data of AI and restaurant will remain in front, but the user will have a clear and easy intercourse. Will give that why a dish is healthy and how, “
He told Fortune India.
“This is not a simple ‘healthy mode” that is made only for beginners. We have kept its quality so high that professional athletes can also rely on it and choose suitable food for themselves, ” he adds. According to the company, this new feature has been designed keeping in mind the athletes and health-classical professionals.
