The Union Civil Aviation Ministry has given its consent to three new airlines—Shankh Air, Al Hind Air and FlyExpress. The move is being seen as the government’s attempt to increase the number of operators after demand in the domestic civil aviation market has gone up.
After the IndiGo fiasco, the three airlines will certainly put up competition among operators to lure flyers.

While sharing the information, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu posted on X, “Over the last one week, pleased to have met teams from new airlines aspiring to take wings in Indian skies—Shankh Air, Al Hind Air and FlyExpress. While Shankh Air has already got the NOC from the Ministry, Al Hind Air and FlyExpress have received their NOCs this week. It has been the endeavour of the ministry to encourage more airlines in Indian aviation, which is among the fastest-growing aviation markets in the world owing to the policies of the government of Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodiji. Schemes like UDAN have enabled smaller carriers such as Star Air, India One Air, Fly91, etc., to play an important role in regional connectivity within the country, and there is more scope for further growth.”

Al Hind Air
Al Hind Air is an initiative of the Kerala-based Al Hind Group. The group is going to start the airline as a regional commuter airline.
According to the company’s website, the airline will start its operations later this year. The company aims to have ATR 72-600 aircraft models, with a focus on providing hassle-free and smooth domestic air travel to passengers.
The company promises that it will maintain the benchmarks of the aviation sector and will soon establish itself as a trusted name.
Al Hind is based in Cochin and is collaborating with Kochi International Airport Limited. As per the website, the airline has secured a no-objection certificate and is working with regulatory authorities to obtain an Air Operator Certificate (AOC).

The promoter of Al Hind Air is Mohammed Haris Thattarathil. He is the Director of the Al Hind Group of Companies. Mohammed Haris has long experience in the travel and tourism industry.
Mohammed Haris was born in Calicut. He earned a BA degree in History and Economics, and a degree in Pharmacology.
