What Is Jeevan Praman? Everything You Need To Know About Digital Life Certificate Campaign 3.0 For Pensioners

The government has taken the new trendy way to spread awareness among the public about DLC. As an awareness-building program, the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DPPW) has launched an extensive outreach program on social media platforms, TV, and through radio jingles.Pensioners can also share feedback via social media, helplines, or Pension Welfare Associations (PWAs).

In a significantly major step towards giving relief and empowerment to pensioners, the Union Minister, Dr. Jitendra Singh, launched the National Digital Life Certificate (DLC) Campaign 3.0 on Wednesday.

This campaign is a vision of Prime Minister Modi for the digital empowerment of pensioners, which will smoothen and speed up the process for pensioners. The launch aims to make it possible for pensioners to submit their digital life certificate (Jeevan Parman) from the comfort of their homes or at a designated pension distribution center digitally. The Press Trust of India released all the information on Wednesday.

Jeevan Parman: Digital Life certificate For Everyone

The Indian Government introduces a bio-metric-based service that allows pensioners to verify their life status online. Pensioners can use fingerprint or iris scans to verify themselves. This certificate can be officially used to give a proof of life to pension distribution agencies.

Submit Your Digital Life Certificate From The Comfort of Home!

The Campaign 3.0 is scheduled to take place in 800 cities and towns from 1 November to 30 November 2024. All pensioners Of Central, State Governments, EPFO, Autonomous bodies will be able to submit DLC at Pension Disbursing Banks or at IPPB. Super Senior Pensioners will be able to do it from their residence and avail doorstep delivery of services.

All banks, including State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, CGDA, IPPB, and UIDAI, responsible for disbursing pensions, will come together and implement the DLC Campaign across the nation.

Other Features To Avail-

The Government of India is constantly working on a framework to improve the scheme for all senior citizens nationwide.

In 2021, the scheme also incorporated ‘Face Authentication’, offering an additional layer of relief to pensioners, allowing them to authenticate themselves remotely. The new initiatives is result of the success of the DLC Campaigns 1.0 and 2.0. These campaign succeeded with 1.47 crore DLCs generated during the 2023 campaign, which involved 597 locations and 100 cities.

“The vision of Prime Minister Modi is clear — to improve the welfare of pensioners through digital empowerment. Jeevan Praman was launched in 2014, and we have since enhanced it with the addition of face authentication to make the process even more user-friendly,” said Singh.

Pensioners who are unable to access the digital platform, they can still choose the traditional way to submit their documents.
