New Delhi: Indian Railways allot another Vande Bharat Express train to West Bengal. The train will connect Howrah and Puri. The train will go through a full phase trial run from Howrah to Puri and back on Friday, sources claim.
The rake will be leaving Howrah at 6.10 am and will be returning at 8.30 am, along with a 2-minute halt in Kharagpur from 7.38 am to 7.40 am in the upward direction. After completing the trial run it will arrive in Puri at 12.35 pm and departure at 1.50 pm.
The second trial is to take place on April 30, from Howrah to Bhadrak and back.
As per predictions, the train to be operational for general passengers from the second or third week of May.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 30, 2022, launched the first-ever Vande Bharat Express for West Bengal. Connecting Howrah with New Jalpaiguri.
At present, a total of 10 Vande Bharat Express trains are operating in the country.
Vande Bharat Express is India's first semi-highspeed train providing its passengers with the facilities of world-class amenities. It is equipped with faster acceleration resulting in high speeds which, reduces journey time by 25 per cent to 45 per cent.
The first ever Vande Bharat Express train was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 18, 2019. The train connects the capital Delhi to the holy city of Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh).
