If you’re planning to buy gold jewelry for your partner this Valentine’s Day, it’s wise to check the latest 24K and 22K gold prices from top Indian jewelers and compare offers before making a purchase. Many leading brands are offering special discounts and deals on this occasion, making it the perfect time to invest in a meaningful gift.

GST (Goods & Services Tax) – A 3% tax is levied on the total price (gold + making charges). There is no GST on the resale/exchange of old gold. In some cases jewelers account for gold loss during crafting. For this they charge an additional percentage.
Stone, additional work charges – Jewelries with diamonds, gemstones, or intricate designs- extra charges will be applicable.
Hallmarking charges – To ensure the purity of gold, a BIS certification fee of ₹45 per piece, plus applicable taxes, is charged. This certification guarantees that the gold meets the required quality standards set by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).

Up to 40% discount on making charges of gold chain. For example, if you buy an 18-carat Bena Gold Chain worth Rs 15,421, then its price will come down to Rs 13,820, which will reduce the price by Rs 1,601.

From January 14 to March 3, 2025, several jewellers are offering discounts on gold and diamond jewellery. Customers can avail of 5% to 25% off on select studded and platinum jewellery, 2.5% to 12.5% off on diamond pieces, and 10% to 20% off on coloured stone jewellery. Solitaire and platinum jewellery have discounts ranging from 5% to 12%. Additionally, old gold can be converted into new jewellery, though making charges and taxes will still apply.
