Sahil Pandita was born into a Kashmiri Brahmin family. During the mass exodus of Kashmiris from the Valley, his family also faced significant challenges. His father lost his government bank job as well. Sahil’s family later moved to a village near Chandigarh. Although he wasn’t interested in studies, he was good at understanding people and their behavior. Sahil is a school dropout. His parents attempted to get him admitted to a diploma course in mechanical engineering in Pune.

In 2011, Sahil’s parents moved to Hubli, Karnataka. He joined them and decided to complete his 12th examination through NIOS. Although he was more interested in earning money, he applied for a job at a call center. He also applied to Clarks Inn and successfully secured a position as a hotel operations trainee, with a salary of Rs 5200.

During his job, Sahil did various housekeeping tasks like cleaning beds, utensils, and toilets. He also chopped vegetables at the hotel. Later, he worked at Hotel Denissons in a similar capacity. Eventually, he secured a job as a front office assistant with the ITC Group in Bengaluru. Due to the high rent in Bengaluru, he had to share a room with 14 other people, all using a single shared bathroom. Unable to bear the situation, he started sleeping in the hotel’s bunker instead of returning to his room.

Sahil learned the working methodology and mechanisms of the hotel industry. His dedication impressed the management, who granted him admission to the ITC Hospitality Management program and waived his fees. He also received a stipend and food. Sahil later got a job with Hyatt Regency in Delhi, earning a salary of Rs 30,000 per month. Soon, he was promoted to shift manager. In 2016, he also served as the duty manager at Taj Hotel.

Later, he secured a job with an asset management company, where he learned data handling, financial management, and operations to ensure smooth audits. In 2018, he established his own company and now earns Rs 2.5 crore.
