Roman Co-founded Ed-tech giant, Unacademy, which is valued at Rs 26000 crore. The company experienced a splendid growth journey. It was started by a YouTuber, Gaurav Munjal, but later Roman joined him and played a key role in establishing it as a company. 

He was born in a middle class family in MP’s Jabalpur. He has been an outstanding student since his school days.

Before joining Munjal, Roman had already established himself in the civil services career. Roman cleared AIIMS entrance at the age of 16 and cracked UPSC examination at the age of 22. He was posted as Assistant Collector in Madhya Pradesh. 

He co-founded ‘Unacademy’ along with Gaurav Munjal and Hemesh Singh. They established the parent technology company of Unacademy, Sorting Hat Technologies. The trio received substantial salaries. In 2022, Gaurav earned Rs 1.58 crore, Hemesh received Rs 1.19 crore, and Roman took home Rs 88 lakh as salary.

Earlier, on December 13, the Delhi government’s Directorate of Education (DoE) had issued a circular directing all government, government-aided, and recognised private schools under DOE, NDMC, MCD, and Delhi Cantonment Board to conduct classes in a hybrid mode for students up to Class IX and XI.
