Aditya Birla Group chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla’s daughter, Ananya Birla is all set to foray into beauty and personal care. This will be her third venture. She has already started the businesses of Microfinance and artificial intelligence (AI). The beauty and personal care segment is rising exponentially. Ananya’s company has not revealed the names of the products. She will challenge big players like Reliance, Tata, HUL, and L’Oreal.
Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani’s daughter Isha Ambani takes care of the company’s beauty and personal care. Ananya Birla’s company Birla Cosmetics will launch the products this year. Ananya herself is a brand ambassador of L’Oreal’s Maybelline. It is expected that the segment of beauty products will witness a rise of $34 billion by 2028. India’s rising purchasing power and trend of online shopping will witness a boom in the sector and it is the reason that Ananya is keen to step into the segment.
According to a filing with the Corporate Affairs Ministry, Birla Cosmetics was established in 2023. Besides Ananya, her mother Neerja Birla, sister Advaitesha Birla, and Manager Akshita Shah are playing key roles of directors in the company.
Ananya started independent microfin at the age of 17. Today, it is the second biggest company in the microfinance sector. Recently, she launched the Beta version of the AI platform ‘Sophius’ from IIT Bombay.
