World’s richest man and Tesla CEO Elon Musk expressed his doubts after claims made by the Chinese AI startup DeepSeek, stating that it has surpassed ChatGPT and become the highest-downloaded free app on the Apple App Store in the United States. Musk raised concerns after DeepSeek claimed it would upskill DeepSeekV3 using only 2,000 Nvidia chips, while leading brands typically use 16,000 Nvidia chips.
Elon Musk reacted to a social media post claiming that DeepSeek possesses over 50,000 Nvidia H100 chips but cannot reveal them due to US export restrictions. Musk responded with ‘Obviously,’ indicating his disbelief in the claims made by the Chinese startup.
