New Delhi: Tata Consultancy Services, an Indian Multinational information technology, recently came under the sight of authorities in relation to a scam involving bribes being demanded in exchange for job placement by a few TCS employees.
In a report by Mint, a few of the senior personnel at TCS were caught under allegations of taking bribes from staffing companies in exchange for job opportunities for their candidates. The big revelation in the whole report is that the malpractice has been going on for years under the company’s nose.
After the incident caught everyones’ attention, the Tata group took action, following which four of the officials got fired on the spot from its Resource Management Group (RMG) along with it three of the staff members got banned.

The whole wicked act came under light when a whistleblower wrote to the company’s CEO and COO professing that the global head of RMG, ES Chakravarthy, for a long time, had been involved in the act of demanding bribes from the placement agencies.
Following the act, the IT major formed a three-member committee to inspect the matter involving Chief Information Security Officer Ajit Menon.
Later on, TCS sent its head of recruitment on leave and dismissed four officials from RMG. The global head of RMG, ES Chakravarthy has been debarred from coming to the office, whereas, another official in the same division has been fired for the same.
In the report, speculation about the officials gaining around Rs 100 crores for the scam commissions has been surfacing.
