New Delhi: Online food delivery app Swiggy will now charge a “platform fee’ of Rs 2 per food order based on the cart value. The company reported to IANS that the charges are only for food orders and not for Instamart users.
Company spokespersons said, “The platform fee is a nominal flat fee charged on food orders. This fee helps us operate and improve our platform and enhance app features to deliver a seamless app experience.”
Swiggy cost is in addition to the convenience and handling fees associated with meal delivery. Swiggy claimed to have processed 1.5-2 million orders over the day, as previously reported.
Swiggy profit in last few months
During the holy month of Ramzan, people in Hyderabad bought a remarkable 10 lakh biryanis and 4 lakh plates of haleem from the major food-delivery site Swiggy. In March, the online food delivery company announced that it had delivered 33 million plates of idlis in the previous year. The top three cities for ordering idlis were Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chennai. On average, the company has over 2.5 lakh restaurant partners enabled on its platform and onboards roughly 10,000 eateries each month.
