Sunil Shetty launches food delivery app 'Waayu'

Mumbai: Bollywood’s Anna, Suniel Shetty launched a new food delivery application called ‘Waayu”. The food delivery app is based on the basis of a ‘zero commission platform’ and will be more pocket-friendly to customers as compared to other apps proving food delivery facilities like Swiggy and Zomato.

Cheaper than ‘Swiggy’ and ‘Zomato’

Waayu is a product of Destek HORECA started by tech entrepreneurs Anirudha Kotgire and Mandar Lande, with the assistance of the Mumbai-based Indian Hotel and Restaurant Association (AHAR) and other industry institutions. It will provide relaxation in terms of high commissions, unfair rankings, biased reviews, and poor quality and support that is faced by several eateries on a daily basis while operating with other food delivery apps.

The app which currently has 25,000 mobile downloads, will soon join hands with the government’s ONDC platform and expand its business to more cities in the coming months.

“WAAYU app will transform the online food delivery industry by embracing a commission-free model. We have 16 revenue streams, but not all will kick in from the beginning. We will have a fixed fee deal with the restaurants at an introductory price of Rs 1,000 per month per outlet. Later, it will be increased to Rs 2,000 a month. There is no per-order commission,” said founder Anirudha Kotgire

Waayu’s Aim

As per reports, the app is not charging any commission fees from restaurants yet, which permits them to offer competitive prices and better value to customers.

The app’s motive is to provide customers with affordable, timely, hygienic, and quality food with better customer support.
