Stock Market Update: As expected, on the first day of August, the stock market continues to have a bullish trend. The index opened flat in early trading on Monday, but soon it gained momentum.
The BSE Sensex was at 57,853 and the NSE Nifty at 17,262 when the first hour of the trading session passed. Wall Street remained in the green on Friday with positive forecasts from tech companies. Its effect is visible on the market today. Asian markets opened with a mixed trend on Monday.
Yes Bank shares are seeing a rise on Monday. M&M, Cipla, Hindalco Industries, Tata Steel and Power Grid Corp were among the major gainers on the Nifty, while Sun Pharma, Britannia Industries, TCS, Tech Mahindra and HUL were among the top losers. On the other hand, bitcoin slipped after the best level of 2022 in the international market. After reaching $24,658 on Saturday, the cryptocurrency fell 2.4 percent on Monday to $23,247.

Rupee strengthens against US dollar
The rupee opened higher by 13 paise at 79.11 against the US dollar in early trade on Monday. The rupee strengthened as the dollar continued to fall on a softer stance by the US Fed and crude oil prices.
At the interbank foreign exchange, the rupee opened at 79.16 against the US dollar and touched 79.11 in opening deals, up 13 paise over its previous close.
The rupee had closed at 79.24 against the US dollar in the previous session. The dollar index, which gauges the greenback’s strength against six currencies, fell 0.14 per cent to 105.75. Global oil benchmark Brent crude futures fell 0.97 per cent to $103 a barrel.
