Stock Market Holiday: The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE) will remain closed today, November 15, 2024, on occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti. Trading will remain inactive today across all segments, including Equity, Equity Derivatives, and Securities Lending and Borrowing (SLB). Trading in Commodity Derivatives and Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) segments will be halted from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, resuming in the evening session at 5:00 PM. This means that MCX (Multi Commodity Exchange) and NCDEX (National Commodity Exchange) to remain inactive from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Friday.
Stock Market Holidays In 2024
India’s stock market to remain closed on three November days: Diwali (Nov 1), Guru Nanak Jayanti (Nov 15), and Maharashtra Assembly Elections (Nov 20). Indian share market to remain closed on December 25, 2024, for Christmas. After Guru Nanak Jayanti 2024, only two share market holidays remain, Maharashtra Assembly Elections (Nov 20) and Christmas (Dec 25). Notably, Indian stock market to remain closed for 16 days in 2024 due to holidays.
Share Market On Thursday
The Indian stock market benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty 50, settled down in red on Thursday, November 14, 2024. The Sensex tumbled 110.64 points to settle at 77,580.31 on Thursday. Nifty50 index also declined 26.35 points to settle at 23,532.70 points. Notably, the benchmark indices are trailing from quite a some time now.
In the meanwhile, foreign investors withdrew Rs 22,420 crore from Indian equities in November, as of 14 November. These investors pulled out Rs 94,017 crore from Indian bourses in October 2024.
The only Sensex gainers on Thursday included Reliance Industries (RIL), Kotak Mahindra Band, HDFC Bank, Tech Mahindra, and Asian Paints. Hindustan Unilever, Nestle India, NTPC, Indusind Bank, Powergrid, and Adani Ports were among the losers.
