Both the Sensex and the Nifty are currently on an upward trend. The Sensex and Nifty are trading in the green. The Sensex 170 and Nifty both opened with a 27-point gain. Share Market Update: The market opened with a green mark on Tuesday, the second day of this trading week. Today, the 30-share Sensex on the BSE opened at 62,300, down 170 points, while the 50-share Nifty on the NSE opened at 18,524, down 85 points.
On the other hand, the Indian stock market fell slightly on the last trading day Monday (December 12, 2022). The Sensex closed at 62,130 points, down 51 points. The Nifty also ended the day at 18,497 points, up 0.5 points. Twelve of the Sensex’s thirty stocks closed higher. Eighteen stocks fell.
Rising & falling shares today
When it comes to today’s rising stocks, UltraTech Cement, Tech Mahindra, IndusInd Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra, and Tata Steel are among the top performers.
On the other hand, many companies, including Powergrid, Hindustan Unilever, Sun Pharma, and Bharti Airtel, are seeing a decline in their shares.
Rupee down 12 paise against dollar
In the foreign exchange market, the rupee opened lower against the dollar on the second day of trading this week. In early trade today, the rupee fell 12 paise to open at 82.65 against the dollar. Earlier, the rupee fell 26 paise to close at 82.53 against the dollar on Monday, the first day of the previous trading week.
