Share Market Today: India’s benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty 50, settled down in green on Thursday, January 30, 2025. The Sensex (index with top 30 firms) surged by 226.85 points to settle at 76,759.81 on Thursday. Meanwhile, Nifty50 (index with top 50 firms) was up 86.40 points to settle at 23,249.50 points.
Foreign investors were back in the Indian stock market in December, but are now cautious from past few days. Foreign investors have taken out a whooping Rs 76,273 crore from the Indian equities in January 2025 so far. Notably, they collectively took out Rs 427 crore from the Indian equities in whole calendar year of 2024.
Notably, the surge came after the US Federal Reserve (US Fed) on Wednesday announced its move to keep the interest rate cuts unchanged in 4.25-4.50% range in its first major decision under President Donald Trump’s second term.
