Share Market Today: Sensex Ends 740 Points Higher Ahead Of Budget 2025

Notably, the surge came before the Budget 2025. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the budget on Saturday, February 1 at around 11 am.

Share Market Today: India’s benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty 50, settled down in green on Friday, January 31, 2025. The Sensex (index with top 30 firms) surged by 740.76 points to settle at 77,500.57 on Friday. Meanwhile, Nifty50 (index with top 50 firms) was up 258.90 points to settle at 23,508.40 points.

Foreign investors were back in the Indian stock market in December, but are now cautious from past few days. Foreign investors have taken out a whooping Rs 76,273 crore from the Indian equities in January 2025 so far. Notably, they collectively took out Rs 427 crore from the Indian equities in whole calendar year of 2024.

Notably, the surge came before the Budget 2025. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the budget on Saturday, February 1 at around 11 am. Prior to this, the US Federal Reserve (US Fed) on Wednesday announced its move to keep the interest rate cuts unchanged in 4.25-4.50% range in its first major decision under President Donald Trump’s second term.
