Share Market: Indian stock market indices, Sensex and Nifty50, experienced a fall on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. In early trading during Wednesday’s session, the Sensex tanked 329.04 points to reach 79,891.68 points. The Nifty50 also tumbled 94 points to reach 24,378.10 levels.
Notably, According to the data available on NSDL website, as of October 22, net Foreign Portfolio Investment (FPI) outflow from the Indian equities have reached a substantial Rs 72,136 crore in October.
Among the Sensex pack, stocks like Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, HDFC Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Nestle India, Axis Bank etc were trading in green in early trade. However, NTPC, Powergrid, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), UltraTech Cement etc were trailing among the Sensex pack stocks in the early trade on Wednesday.
On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, the Sensex and Nifty50 indices experienced a decline, with Sensex declining 930.55 points to settle at 80,220.72 and Nifty50 tanking 309 points to settle at 24,472.10 levels.
The current market sentiment is influenced by three key factors: intensifying geopolitical tensions, ambiguity surrounding the upcoming 2024 US presidential election, and sustained selling pressure from foreign investors.
