Share Market: India’s benchmark stock market indices Sensex and Nifty tumbled to settle on Thursday, October 17, 2024. The 30 Sensex firms drops 494.75 points to settle at 81,006.61 points. The Nifty50 index on NSE too ended with a drop. Nifty50 tumbled 221.45 points to settle down at 24,749.85 levels in Thursday trade.
Among the Sensex pack, only the shares of Tech Mahindra, HCL Technologies, Reliance Industries (RIL), Infosys, and SBI settled in green on Thursday. Kotak Mahindra Bank, Axis Bank, JSW Steel, Maruti Suzuki, Asian Paints, Nestle India, Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M), and other stocks tumbled to settle in Thursday trade.
Both benchmark stock market indices Sensex and Nifty opened in green on Thursday. The 30 Sensex firms in early trade surged 280.04 points to reach 81,781.40 levels, while, the Nifty50 rallied to reach at 25,029.50 levels in early trade.

TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) – Settle 0.28% up at Rs 4,106.20 per share.
Tata Steel – Settle 1.87% down at Rs 152.35 per share.
Tata Motors – Settle 1.70% down at Rs 891.70 per share.
Reliance Industries (RIL) – Settle 0.20% up at Rs 2,713.45 per share.
JSW Steel – Settle 0.77% down at Rs 981.70 per share.
HCL Technologies – Settle 0.18% up at Rs 1,867.90 per share.
Tech Mahindra – Settle 2.39% up at Rs 1,699.55 per share.
Adani Ports – Settle 0.49% down at Rs 1,396 per share.
ITC – Settle 0.89% down at Rs 488.80 per share.
HDFC Bank – Settle 1.56% up at Rs 1,673.35 per share.
Notably, 9 of the 30 firms of Sensex settled down positively, whereas shares of other 21 Sensex packed companies tumbled on Thursday.
