Share Market: As India enters festive season, stock market closed in the red territory on Wednesday, October 30, 2024. The Sensex declined 426.85 points to close at 79,942.18 on Wednesday. Nifty50 index also tumbled 126 points to end at 24,340.85 levels.
Foreign investors withdrew a substantial Rs 90,927 crore from Indian equities this month until October 29, NSDL data shows.
Sensex losers on Wednesday included Infosys, ICICI Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), SBI, whereas Maruti Suzuki, UltraTech Cement, Adani Ports, ITC, Indusind Bank, and Hindustan Uniliver were among the gainers.
Notably, Sensex and Nifty50 indices posted losses in early trade on Wednesday. The Sensex witnessed a significant decline of 366.53 points, touching 80,002.50 levels in the morning session. The Nifty50 index also declined to reach 24,337.60 points.
The market is currently being impacted by three major factors: rising geopolitical tensions, uncertainty around the 2024 US presidential election, and continued foreign investor sell-off, further fuelled by the crisis in the Middle East.

TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) – Settle 0.21% up at Rs 4,085.60 per share.
ICICI Bank – Settle 1.52% down at Rs 1,312.20 per share.
Tata Motors – Settle 0.33% down at Rs 840.30 per share.
Reliance Industries (RIL) – Settle 0.37% up at Rs 1,343.95 per share.
JSW Steel – Settle 0.10% down at Rs 957.20 per share.
HCL Technologies – Settle 1.20% up at Rs 1,850 per share.
Tech Mahindra – Settle 0.65% down at Rs 1,684.80 per share.
Adani Ports – Settle 1.69% up at Rs 1,396.90 per share.
ITC – Settle 0.72% up at Rs 491.45 per share.
HDFC Bank – Settle 0.91% down at Rs 1,735 per share.
On Wednesday, 11 out of 30 Sensex constituents ended in the green, while 19 Sensex stocks closed in the red.
