Share Market: India’s stock market reversed early losses, closing higher on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, with the Sensex and Nifty50 indices ending in positive territory. The Sensex jumped 363.99 points to close at 80,369.03 on Tuesday. Nifty50 index also jumped 127.70 points to end at 24,466.85 levels.
Foreign investors withdrew Rs 88,818 crore from Indian equities this month till October 28, NSDL data reveals.
Sensex gainers on Tuesday included SBI, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Finserv, NTPC, Bajaj Finance, and Powergrid whereas Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Sunpharma, Indusind Bank, and Nestle India were among the losers.
Notably, Sensex and Nifty50 indices posted losses in early trade on Tuesday. The Sensex dropped sharply by 445.39 points, reaching 79,559.65 in the early session. Nifty50 also slipped to 24,192.10 levels.
The market is currently being driven by three major factors: escalating geopolitical tensions, uncertainty around the 2024 US presidential election, and continued foreign investor sell-off, further compounded by the crisis in the Middle East.

Tata Motors – Settle 4.06% down at Rs 843.05 per share.
Reliance Industries (RIL) – Settle 0.44% up at Rs 1,340.20 per share.
JSW Steel – Settle 1.24% down at Rs 955.20 per share.
HCL Technologies – Settle 0.15% up at Rs 1,874.30 per share.
Tech Mahindra – Settle 0.04% down at Rs 1,701.50 per share.
Adani Ports – Settle 1.52% up at Rs 1,373.75 per share.
ITC – Settle 0.80% up at Rs 487.95 per share.
HDFC Bank – Settle 0.96% up at Rs 1,751 per share.
On Tuesday, a significant 16 out of 30 Sensex constituents ended in the green, while 14 Sensex stocks closed in the red.
