Share Market News: India’s benchmark stock market indices Sensex and Nifty settle down in red on Monday, October 21, 2024. The 30 Sensex firms tumble 73.48 points to settle at 81,151.27 points. The Nifty50 index on NSE too ended in red territory. Nifty50 tanked 72.95 points to settle down at 24,781.10 levels in Monday trade.

Among the Sensex pack, shares of HDFC Bank, Asian Paints, Mahindra and Mahindra (M&M), Nestle India, NTPC etc. settled in green on Monday. Shares of Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bajaj Finserv, Indusind Bank, UltraTech Cement, JSW Steel etc tumbled to settle in Monday trade.

Both benchmark stock market indices Sensex and Nifty experienced a significant upswing in initial trade on Monday. The Sensex surged 545.27 points to reach 81,770.02 points, while the Nifty50 also rallied 124.25 points to reach 24,978.30 levels.

TCS (Tata Consultancy Services) – Settle 1.06% down at Rs 4,078.30 per share.

Tata Steel – Settle 0.19% down at Rs 155 per share.

Tata Motors – Settle 0.76% down at Rs 903.15 per share.

Reliance Industries (RIL) – Settle 0.76% up at Rs 2,738.25 per share.

JSW Steel – Settle 1.11% down at Rs 981.35 per share.

HCL Technologies – Settle 0.79% down at Rs 1842.50 per share.

Tech Mahindra – Settle 0.78% up at Rs 1,701.10 per share.

Adani Ports – Settle 2.15% down at Rs 1,375.20 per share.

ITC – Settle 0.62% down at Rs 483.65 per share.

HDFC Bank – Settle 2.83% up at Rs 1,728.80 per share.

Notably, 21 of the 30 firms of Sensex settled down in red, whereas shares of other 9 Sensex packed companies were in green on Monday.
