Stock markets closed: The Indian stock market will remain closed on 4 April 2023 on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti. According to the BSE website, the interest rate derivatives segment along with equity derivatives segment, equity segment, SLB segment and currency derivatives segment will remain closed. Trading on NSE and BSE will resume on Wednesday, April 5. April 5 is the first holiday for the stock market in the current financial year (FY24).

Share market holidays 2023
According to the list of trading holidays on the BSE website, in 2023, apart from today’s holiday, the stock market will remain closed for 11 more days. There will be two more holidays in the stock market in April alone. Markets will remain closed on April 4 on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti. Then on April 7 it will be closed for Good Friday. Trading holiday will be observed on 14th April on account of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti.
In May, there is a trading holiday on 1st May on the occasion of Maharashtra Day. Markets will remain closed on June 28 on account of Bakrid. On August 15, there will be a holiday in the stock market on the occasion of Independence Day. Due to the celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi, there will be a market holiday in September on 19th of the month.

There is a two-day holiday in the stock market in October. October 2 and October 24 are Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti and Dussehra respectively. Markets will remain closed on November 14 and November 27 to observe Diwali Balipratipada and Guru Nanak Jayanti. However, there will be auspicious trading on November 12 on the occasion of Diwali. Markets will remain closed on 25th of December on account of Christmas.
