Share Market: Bloodbath at the Dalal Street continues as Sensex drops over 2,100 points in a week. India’s benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty 50, settle down in red on Friday, February 28, 2025. The Sensex (index with top 30 firms) tumbled a massive, 1414.33 points to settle at 73,198.10 points. Meanwhile, Nifty50 (index with top 50 firms) was down 420.35 points to settle at 22,124.70 points.

Notably, Sensex tumbled 424.90 points to settle at 75,311.06 a week ago on February 21. Meanwhile, Nifty50 was down 117.25 points to settle at 22,795.90 points on that day.

This translates into a 2,112.96 points drop for Sensex in just a week. Meanwhile, Nifty50 dropped 671.2 points during this period.

  • Tariff Threats: US President Donald Trump said that he will impose tariffs on the friend nations also.

  • Budget Failed To Impress Share Market: Union Budget, presented on February 1 failed to impress the Indian equity markets.
  • Foreign Investors Sell-off: Continuous selling by the foreign investors in Indian equities. Foreign investors have pulled out Rs 34,574 crore from Indian equities in February. Foreign investors have pulled out a total of Rs 1,12,601 crores from Indian share market.
