Meta’s India head: Facebook’s parent company Meta on Thursday announced the appointment of Sandhya Devanathan as its vice president for India. She will be tasked with coordinating the organization’s revenue and business priorities and fostering long-term growth, The Business Standard reported.

Devanathan will start in the position on January 1, 2023, and she will answer to Vice President of Meta APAC Dan Neary (Asia Pacific). She will return to India and join the APAC executive team.

To promote revenue growth in important channels, Devanathan will oversee the company’s India mission and fortify ties with top brands, creators, advertisers, and partners.

Devanathan has worked internationally in banking, payments, and technology for 22 years. She joined Meta in 2016 and contributed to the development of the company’s teams and businesses in Singapore and Vietnam as well as efforts throughout Southeast Asia. 2020 saw her relocate to oversee gaming for APAC, one of Meta’s biggest verticals.

She is also the worldwide lead for Play Forward, a company-wide programme to increase diversity in the gaming industry, and the executive sponsor for Women@APAC at Meta. She is also a member of Pepper Financial Services’ global board.

Marne Levine, chief business officer of Meta, said: “India is at the forefront of digital adoption and Meta has launched many of our top products, such as Reels and Business Messaging, in India first. I’m pleased to welcome Sandhya as our new leader for India. Sandhya has a proven track record of scaling businesses, building exceptional and inclusive teams, driving product innovation and building strong partnerships.”
