Epigamia co-founder Rohan Mirchandani tragically passed away on December 20. Mirchandani, died of a heart attack at the age of 41.
“Rohan was not only a visionary leader but also an inspiration to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His unwavering commitment, boundless energy, and deep passion for Epigamia have left an indelible mark on all of us. We will work closely with the leadership of the company to take Rohan’s legacy to greater heights,” said the board of Epigamia.
Rohan Mirchandani, an alumnus of NYU Stern and Wharton School, co-founded Drums Food International in 2013. This company is the parent of Epigamia, a popular Greek yogurt brand in India. He once said that he got his business idea while attending a lecture in Mumbai during his business school days. He realized that the FMCG industry lacked innovation, sparking his decision to start his own start-up.
In recent times, the country has witnessed the series of tragic losses of startup leaders. Rohan Malhotra, co-founder of Good Capital, and another startup leader, passed away on October 1st of this year. Furthermore, Pepperfry co-founder, Ambareesh Murty, tragically died at the age of 51 after suffering a cardiac arrest while on a biking trip in Leh in August 2023.
