Reliance relaunches SIL: Rs 1 Ketchup, Rs 5 Noodles, Mukesh Ambani revives 75-year-old brand, big challenge to Maggi, Kissan

For over 75 years, SIL has brought flavour and delight to Indian households. The company said the relaunch of SIL marks its first major step into the packaged foods segment. Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), has announced a major expansion into the packaged foods segment with the relaunch of the 75-year-old legacy brand SIL. The FMCG arm of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), led by Mukesh Ambani on Tuesday, stated that this move marks RCPL’s comprehensive foray into the food category. The brand will debut a new portfolio featuring noodles, jams, ketchups, sauces, and spreads, positioning SIL as the company’s flagship offering in this segment.

Noodles, Jam at affordable prices

With this launch, Reliance has introduced products like noodles, ketchup, and jam at affordable prices of Rs 5, Rs 1, and Rs 22 respectively, promising global quality. This move will further strengthen Reliance’s portfolio in the packaged food segment and is expected to pose a direct challenge to brands like Maggi and Kissan. The relaunched SIL brand has a fresh, modern identity, bringing back the flavours loved by generations while meeting the taste and quality expectations of today’s Indian families. As RCPL’s flagship foods brand, SIL marks the company’s first major step into packaged foods and lays the foundation for a strong future portfolio, according to the statement released by the company.

Noodles for Rs 5, Ketchup for Rs 1

According to Reliance, SIL is launching a new series of noodles. The noodles will be available in four different flavours: Masala, Atta with Veggies, Korean K-Fire and Chow Chow, priced from Rs 5. In addition, SIL ketchup, made with real tomatoes, has also been launched. This ketchup does not contain any artificial colours or synthetic ingredients and is available at just Rs 1. A mixed fruit jam made with eight different fruits has also been introduced under the SIL brand. This jam will be available in 100g, 200g, and 500g packs, with a starting price of Rs 22. The company claims that this jam contains 22% more fruit content than regular jams.
